u7198 suggestions 2000 chev

Post by Ironmanstl »

2000 Chev Silverado 2500 6.0L
u7198 2.13

Just so you know, I did my logging and WOT runs in -20 celcius weather as it is cold here in Alberta now. 2200 ft elevation
:)

I installed the 93 octane tune, though I can only run 91 octane fuel.
From real time data I adjusted -14 on my LTFTs and they now sit at 0.00 and -0.78 now, so I am happy with that.

My knock retard seems to stay at 0 on most WOT bursts. The odd time I see it jump to 0.5 - 0.8 at start of WOT then quickly settle back to 0. Do I need to adjust my timing or is this acceptable?

I tryed to monitor my O2 voltages as bests I couild, as the u7198 won't log.
The highest numbers I managed to see where around .850 -.860 and they only popped up for a split second once I let off the pedal on a 10 sec WOT blast. During most of the WOT run the voltage seems to fluctuate around.740ish or so. Hard to get an acurate reading I think, the numbers jump around alot. Should I be increase the PE in both ranges?

The truck ran great with the 93 tune with the tranny shiffting a little firmer, but not such a hard whip as when the TM is off. Problem is... after I did my numerous WOT runs to check my O2 sensors and KR the truck now shifts incredibly hard and it is uncomfortable.

Any suggestions would be appreciated with my above results.

thanx in advance

if you have your slope adjusted correctly and your ltft's are 0.00 and -0.78, then I just normally leave the PE settings at 0 (default)...

for the KR at the start of WOT, that's normal... cuz you're just starting to lay into it... and 0.5 to 0.8 is nothing... as long as it drops right off to 0 and doesn't increase, you're ok.

Great thanx for your input Monte,
:)

So my truck should be all set now.
Other than the harsh shifting, I am very impressed with the tune.
It definatley woke it up off the line.
Perhaps Mike will chime in with some help with the harsh shifting.

btw I only have a CAI and a cat back.

yup - the shifting thing is a known issue... they can get you a custom tune to fix that...

hopefully, with all of these common problems they're seeing with the trucks, they will automagically put these adjustments in the canned/pre-set tunes that come on the predator...
