Electric engine cooling fans run all the time with a tune

Post by sixathome »

I got my Intune yesterday and loaded up the 87 octane tune with the DoD off in my '08 GMC Crew Cab Z71 (LC9), works great and I love it. A little more power and the v4/v8 lag is GONE! I did notice the the coolong fans run all the time now even when cold, not that's a bad thing by any means and maybe I never noticed how much they ran before but is it common for them to run all the time with a tune?

Thanks

I haven't noticed any change in the fans running with the 87 or custom 87 Lew tune. I know you can adjust when the turn off and on, did you go into any of that?

No, I didn't go into any of that, the fans are always on now after the tune. Is there a place under "modify tune" to change the fan settings?

I believe there is (I haven't selected the modify tune in a while since Lew tuned my truck) but if you didn't mess with anything other than load the 87 tune you shouldn't be having that problem.

It must be something to do with the specific tune and/or something to do with the fan control in adjustable parameters, I just don't know how to dial it in to where the fans don't run all the time. I put it back to stock (modified) with DoD off and the fans operate as before the tune. Maybe Diablosport techs can shed some light on what to do.

the fan % power is increased more in the tunes, to keep the vehicle running cooler... they were always on before, but at a lower power, so you never heard them before... but the tunes increase the % power they run at, so now you hear them... a

and there's no problems with them running like that... mine have been running at more % power for the past 6.5 years with no issues... ;)
