An internal update has been installed that requires a reboot

Post by ramias »

I have Trinity t1000 / Jeep commander Hemi 2006

Purchased from eBay April 2011

Yesterday I tray it in my jeep , the unit will not pass the locked screen saying "An internal update has been installed that requires a reboot".

And keep saying
"An internal update has been installed that requires a reboot.
Please unplug your Trinity briefly to cycle the power.(1)"

And now it just keeps saying that. Won't connect to the car, won't connect to the computer. As much as I wanted to run the Trinity tune on the car,

I'm living out side US, so, it will take more than 2 weeks to send it to you and another 2 weeks to re send it back to me,
Please help

Thanks

I purchased also a Trinity but from a local dealer yesterday. I've just been playing with the basic menus and have yet to install a tune since my gas in the tank has lower octane than any tune available. This morning after starting the trinity up everything was ok but at work I wanted to check out the transmission option available without installing a tune and got the same message as above.

An internal update has been installed that requires a reboot.
Please unplug your Trinity briefly to cycle the power.(1)

What causes this and can I go threw the local dealer where I bought it or do I have to ship it out to you guys?

Thanks

HELP! Tool is unresponsive

Post by 2010Rubi »

1. 6JWB2A1 (I think, the "B" looks like it is too close to the W )
2. Don't know, tool is locked
3. 2010 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon

My DS Trinity says:
"An internal update has been installed that requires a reboot.
Please unplug your Trinity briefly to cycle the power (1)"

I tried calling tech support at approximately 4:45 PM CST and was holding for a representative for approx 20 minutes before I hung up and tried again. When I tried again "Our offices are closed" WTH?? I also called this morning before work and was holding for a rep for 45 minutes. WORST TECH SUPPORT I HAVE EVER DEALT (or tried to deal) WITH. I sure as hell hope their service is better than this and I just got them on a bad day. Also, their tech support hours suck, closed on weekends and only open from 9 until 6EST?? I'm about to just say screw it, take the damn thing back and give me my money back so I can get a Bully Dog. It's cheaper and I have at least heard of them before.

Please prove me wrong and have someone call me at 931-217-4955 to get this fixed, it's bad enough I deal with Army BS all day, then when I do get a chance to work on my Jeep I gotta deal with this??

RE: hello my name is actually Abigail

I am having the same issue as everyone else here on my trinity. It is being used on an 05 Magnum RT 5.7L. From what I understand from above I need to send my unit to you via the RMA process. This will be the second time I have had to do so since I bought the unit approx 6 months ago. (hardware not software related issue previously) It is coming close to spending more time in the mail than in my car.

My main question is, what is going to happen to my OEM (Stock) Tune, since the car is currently programmed with the 93 Octane program and I have no way of restoring it to the car or backing it up to a PC? Last time I sent it to you, when the unit was returned it acted like a new unit and I had to go through all the setup again. Fortunately then I was able to return the car to stock before sending it to you.

This is why I'm sitting on 9r08. I can't deal with the possibility of bricking the unit.

1r09 is THE fix to keep this from possibly happening....

Seems like it happens WHEN people update to 1r09.

I had not upgraded yet, so as mikel states, that is not my problem.

So I am assuming my only hope of recovering my stock tune is to get lucky and have the unit actually boot without the message, restore the stock tum to the car and then upgrade to 1r09?

besides, the instructions state when upgrading to restore the stock tune to the car first, which would eliminate my issue with sending it back a second time.
