stock tune
I bought the intune, installed it on my truck with the 87 octane tune. It was working fine but i got a dual exhaust and the sound from the AFM turning on sounded horrible so i went to turn it off. When i hooked it up and it started to load it froze. I got a RMA from diablosport to send it back and when they sent it back it no longer had my stock tune in it. So now here i sit with no stock tune and diablosport has told me that i need to go to the dealership and get my system flashed back to stock and they would pay for it, But by doing this i will be voiding my warranty for sure as chevy will have a record of the flash being done. One of the resons i got the Intune was because you could change it back to stock for garage visits and noone would be the wiser....So the delema is do i go flash the system thru chevy and probably viod my warranty or do i make Diablosport flash the Intune with a stock tune???? One final question If i do take it to the dealership whcih system am i gonna flash the ECM or the PCM or both???they are 107.00 each.

RE: stock tune
they are not going to see anything, and will have no reason to look if you dont say anythig
Just mention that you saw the guys on the forums saying that the latest flashes make the truck run better, and tell them you want to make sure you are on the latest and greatest software from GM.
$107 each is ridiculous, it takes about 15 minutes to flash both, should be no more than 1 hour labor, but you do not need the TCM flashed.
Thanks

RE: stock tune
From what I understand, the only way Chevy is going to know (or care) about you flashing your PCM is if you show up at their door with a busted engine or transmission and make a warranty claim. Depending on what part(s) failed in the engine, they might plug in their Tech II scanner, take a snapshot of the tune id, then look up your vin # in the GM database and compare it to the tune file that is supposed to be on the truck. Those id's wouldn't match, and they would begin the process of voiding your warranty.
Your situation is quite different. You aren't making a warranty claim. There is nothing broken on your truck. You are simply asking for a reflash of your PCM, and forking over $107 of your money to pay for it. I really don't think they'll care why you want it flashed. You're paying $107 for a procedure that will take them 15 minutes at the most. So I don't think you have any warranty voiding concerns, but again this is just my opinion. I'm sure others will chime in with their two cents as well.
