I'm new here so forgive me. I have an 07' srt8 magnum, I just bought my Predator and I plugged it in and it says I need to update it. I just figured that it came with r17 on it that i wouldn't have to do that. I guess I would like someone to explain to me why?

Yes, you have a old ecm file in your car, and need the cable to update it. Cheaper than going to the dealer for a star scan flash.
I think you can get the tool to PC serial cable locally. You'll also need a pwer supply to power up the tool in the house.

It is giving you the message because the PCM needs to have a newer calibration for the Predator to read it.
You can go to www.diablosport.com/dcx and there are complete instructions.
The cables that you need are a USB-to-Serial adapter and a 12v 1amp AC power cord.
