U7185 and LLY Error.........

Post by danhercules »

I try to "tune it" and when it wants to download the stock program I get an error message. :(

Its been a while since I have put a tune in my truck. I would say at least 12 months.

What should I do?

This is what the Predidor says...

"Vehical data backup
######ERROR#######
Reading process terminated

Press any key......"

Truck is all stock, exept K&N intake filter and intake tube.

Bought the programmer when the truck was just 6 month old. 04 Max with LLY.

Took tune out to get oil changed at dealer about 18 months ago and just now tried to put it back.

Are you talking about the unit to the truck or are you talking about my truck, like the batteries and battery cable?

Truck operates fine, starts fine. My head unit for the stereo resets when there is low voltage. I replaced a battery about 4 weeks ago, stereo was resetting, but its been fine now.

Volt gauge on truck seems normal. Could it be my head unit powering up? It is a touch screen.

The reason I asked, is because stereos are 99% the reason behind this issue on the older GM trucks ;)

Not so much the stereo, as the harness used to plug it into the stock harness, remove that, and try again.

Are you talking about unplugging the stereo at the harness? What about just shutting down the stereo so its not pulling a load while trying turn on?

Thanks for your help.

as mentioned, the harness is the issue, so it must be removed.

I was not sure what you meant by removing the harness. So I just unplugged the stereo harness and tried the tune. It worked. Then I plugged back in.

Thanks for your help. Sorry if I seemed a bit stupid.

Ill buy another Diablo tune in the future. Great customer service.

I am about 3/4 throttle now. Nice feeling that again. Its been 2 years. WHY DID I WAIT SOOOOO LONG???!?!?!?!!!! LOL

One more question, do you think I will have to unplug the harness when I take the tune out and put the stock one back in?
