A CMR dyno tune will come after the holidays, but I gotta keep the motor in one piece until then.

Car is detonating like crazy!
Just ran a log on my car. Anything over 4000 rpm, way upto 6600, there's upto 7.5° KR when on the pedal. Its like when I'm on the pedal, the motor goers lean and the KR shhots up. This is on a canned 93 CAI tune, with Mobil 93 octane in the tank. Whats going on? Is this most likely a bad tank of gas, or is the E10 causing problems? I'm seriously considering changing over to the 91 CAI tune.

[quote="Mike_Levy"]Just ran a log on my car. Anything over 4000 rpm, way upto 6800, thereYOU BETTER MAKE THAT CMR TUNE SOONER. TRY ADDING FUEL AT THOSE POINTS. TRY THE 91 TUNE TO SEE IF CHANGES, THATS AN EASY FIX FOR NOW.
RE: Car is detonating like crazy!
I get a lot of part throttle knock on my 06 srt8 with both 91 and 93 tunes. I also see WOT knock as well. I've filled up with several gas stations and noticed about the same for most of the brands. I tried pulling timing out and didn't see much change. Should I actually be adding fuel instead of trying to pull timing?
Re: RE: Car is detonating like crazy!
I tried fooling with the canned tunes but with the bad fuel around here I didn't have much success (still showed 5.5 KR at some points). Like someone suggested, get a cmr tune. It's WELL worth the money. I have no KR now and the car wails.sweetsrt8 wrote:I get a lot of part throttle knock on my 06 srt8 with both 91 and 93 tunes. I also see WOT knock as well. One of the guys on the 300C Forum is getting together a whole group to come by and have CMRs done. Not sure if he spoke to anybody there about it yet.
