MPG Booster Tune

Post by bacardizzi »

What grade of gas is best for the MPG Boost tune? I'm about to take a long trip and want to get the best MPG I can.

The MPG booster tune for your car will be fine with the 93 octane. Like the post above says, 93 only.

But the description in the InTune when you select that tune says 87-up octane. That description needs to be changed if it requires premium (92?) just like the factory tune for an SRT8.

How about for a 2009 R/T 5.7? The factory recommends mid-grade (89) for their stock tune. I believe the 5.7 trucks might only need 87 (but somebody needs to verify).

We need 89 octane also in stock tune

the mpg booster tune is an 87 octane tune... and is not a performance tune... not like the regular 87 octane tune...

Ok this topic has confused my little brain. I have a 2006 5.7 Ram with the MPG tune. If I remember I had to put 89 octane with the stock tune. Now with this new tune do I continue with 89 or can I use 87 now?

Thanks for the quick reply. This makes the tuner pay for itself with the money I will save even if I only get 1 mpg increase. That's a 12 cent saving a gallon for 87 octane and with a 26 gallon tank I will recoup my investment quickly.
