2005 Ram trans tuning
i bought a Diablo Intune for my 2005 Ram 1500 5.7l and recently got a custome tune, and now i want to do a custom trans tune but im not sure were to drag the file to. Does it just go to the "tune" folder and the intune recognizes it? Thanks

RE: 2005 Ram trans tuning
Ok, i have another question. My tuner is asking for TCM factory tune to build me a custom TCM tune, but i cant find that on the intune. All i see is PCM Backup and PCM last tune written. Where is the TCM ?

Yeah I'm on the that update, I haven't been able to do any trans tuning at all, it doesn't show up on the intune. Do you think its an update issue? I'll check for updates

RE: 2005 Ram trans tuning
ok so i hooked my intune to computer to update and its all up to date. i still dont have TCM in my intune. I tryed loading the custom PCM tune again in hopes that it would ask about TCM but nothing. So what can i do? is it not reading mi TCM? Thanks
RE: 2005 Ram trans tuning
You have to actually go thru the PCM tune menu before it will even bring up the TCM tune options. ... "write vehicle > select tune > modify tune? >" then select either "performance TCM tune" or "Modify Stock Tune." If you do not select any PCM tunes it will not let you into the TCM menu, and until you have actually installed a Diablo tune, nothing will show up in the tunes folder unless you've purchased one and put it there manually. Then it will show a backup and a last tune installed. IE, if you do a PCM tune and a TCM tune the tunes folder will then show 4 files

RE: 2005 Ram trans tuning
ok so i tryed what you said and it still no TCM tuning. I go to "tune vehicle" then "write vehicle" i select my custome tune out of all the tunes. Then it asks " modify tune?" and i select yes and all it lets me modify is idle, rev limit , spark , fuel, throttle, ect.. i make my changes and load the tune and thats it. TCM is not there it never comes up. Am I missing something? Im i doing something wrong? I dont know what to do. Thanks

RE: 2005 Ram trans tuning
sounds like there is no communication with TCM. 05 Ram TCM cal id# is 05094258AD.
"show cal id" should show both PCM #56028958AI and TCM #05094258AD on an 05 Ram if the tuner is communicating with both the PCM & TCM.

RE: 2005 Ram trans tuning
No, that "sounds right." Haven't used mine in a week or so and I'm a rookie at best! But I've have deciced from reading the forum different vehicles behave differently on the tool. I have the same vehicle as yours. It always brings up the TCM menu after the desired options have been chosen from the PCM menu and before the actual writing begins. It shows two bars; one is "TCM Performance Tune" the second is "Modify Stock ..." can't remember the 3rd word... been a LONG day at work.
If I had time to walk thru it with mine in hand maybe we'd hit on something but I work 7 days a week odd and long hours. But try giving them a call during their business hours. I've had excellent luck on the few times I've called to get someone who answered my question(s) immediately.
Whn you get it going, you'll like the ability to change RPM shift points. Stock they seem to rev up too high before shifting with little throttle applied. I set mine to shift around 1500 so when I've easy on the throttle it really saves fuel compared to stock. Good luck, hope you get it figured out

I plan to write kredrocket a custom TCM tune which will probably perform better than a modified stock or modified canned tune.rt9602 wrote:Whn you get it going, you'll like the ability to change RPM shift points.
