08-12 Colorados, Canyons, and H3's needed!

Post by mikel »

We are working on tune development for 08-12 Colorado's, Canyon's, and H3's. We're after all engine combos, 4 cyl, I-5 and V8 models.

Anyone interested will get a FREE Trinity tuner for loaning us their truck for 2 days. You'll get it back with a tune we create on the dyno for your evaluation until the tool is released.

If interested, please let me know, loaner trucks are available.

Thanks

Still here but a trip to Florida wouldn't be practical. (2010 Colorado 5.3) Hopefully, I can do some road tests for you.. BTW, talk to Max. I was finally able to get some info from GM that should be very helpful to you on the 5.3's.
He also has my land line number. It would be a lot more practical to explain exactly what info I got from them. Also, I can get you some road time in a 2006 Canyon 4X4 with an I5. It has about 100,000 miles on it but it runs great.

Cool, but we just need some vehicles here on the dyno for development.

Thanks

If you come up with one for the 3.7 I5 what are the chances that you would be able to make it work on the 3.5? I have an 06 H3, but am located in Maine so loaning it in FL isn't really possible.

I have a 2012 V8 Colorado that I will loan you. Not stock though. It has headers and dual exhaust.

I have a 2012 Z71 5.3 4x4 if you want to use it, currently located north of you in Port Orange. It's got a Supermodulation ported throttle body and a Volant Intake on it, other than that it's stock. Let me know.

Does this mean you're going to include mine (2010 5.3)? The engine code is the same for 2010-2012 (P).

Glad to see that. I would still like to do some testing and data logging for you. So far, the only mods I've done are to the brakes and larger diameter tires. (265 75 16 in place of the stock 235 75 16) There are a few dynos available within 25 miles but I don't know their rates (Pittsburgh area).

Hey Mike,

If that, 'when can you bring it down' was directed at me, then we need to talk! I'm leaving on vacation the 28th to head to Michigan, and plan on driving the truck. If you want I can probably get it down there Thursday evening, if I can get it back Saturday. If it's a one-day thing, I can show up when you open Saturday and hang out or go catch a movie or something. If I bring the truck down and leave it, I'll need a loner. :(

You guys are 3.5 hours from me according to Google, I'm sure I can work something out with my job where I can take off 2:30-3pm to head down there.

Drop me a PM and I'll send you my phone number if you want it.

I'm guessing when the release happens, a flash for the Trinity hardware will include the 'offical' tune? The one being provided until then is just an evaluation tune?

I was going to buy a Trinity after I talked to you voice a couple of months ago but, when I called back a week later and talked to someone else, I was told "no way for the Colorado and it won't work" so I didn't buy it. I'm interested in the Trinity more for the virtual gauges than the tunes but there is a lot of room for improvement in how GM tuned it. Best example is low rpm wot performance really sucks. It feels like they lean it out way to much. Anyway, if you are serious about adding support for my Colorado, I'll order a Trinity and do all the logging you want but $600 is an awful lot to spend on a paper weight.

That's the 'torque management' they put in to supposedly save wear and tear on the transmission. It SUCKS, my truck feels like a 4-banger below 2500 RPM and 30mph.

Really hoping to do away with that, and eventually stick some Corvette servos in the transmission, should firm things up nicely.
