2004 neon srt4 tune and won't start

Post by gearhead89 »

I have a t-1000 and I was tuning my 04 dodge neon srt4 and half way into loading a custom tune it stopped. Every time I plug the trinity in it says the last tune didn't finish would you like to reload the original tune but when I try to it says it is unable to load and my car won't start at all. Any ideas or can one of the moderators help out with this?

got any aftermarket electronics?

turbo timer, remote start, etc?

disconnect them, and try again.
Remove them from the factory harness.

Thanks

Yes I do have some and I've removed them. Still haven't made any progress. Is there anything else?

How exactly did it stop? Did you power cycle the tool while it was in flashing mode? You could have bricked the PCM.

It stopped while it was loading. Not sure if I lost battery power because my battery was pretty weak.

yeah...good question.

Was voltage removed from the PCM?
Did the batter die?
Did the tool get unplugged?

If none of the above, and it seemingly failed 'on its own', then some sort of electronics that did not come from Dodge are causing the issue...

I also had to replace my battery because it was old and kept needing to be recharged

Just checked my engine bay and the bolt that's holdin the battery ground is loose. I just had all solid mounts put in and I think the vibration loosened it up

fix that, charge the car, and try again...losing batt voltage during a flash is one of the worst things that can happen, as it can lead to a damaged PCM in some cases.
