I have an '05 Hemi 1500 4wd with 5-speed and my tuner has worked flawlessly doing TCM tuning throughout each and every update, ... it only allows for changes in the upshift and downshift rpms between 1-2 and 2-3 at particular throttle opening percentages... no firmness adjustments or anything else but it does seem to "firm-up" the torque management mushy 3-4, 4-5 shifts.curtpittman wrote:Went to CMR dealer today. There are no TCM adjustments for the Dodge 05 Hemi pickup. Apparently Diablo tested a few trucks with TCM adjustments and blew up a few trannys (this was info from the Diablo dealer in Florida).

hi mike! i was hoping someone form diablo would answer this post. my tuner does not allow for any tcm adjustments for some reason. no luck at the cmr dealer either. the only adjustable parameters after i select the 91 oct canned tune are tire size parameters. i was there when the tech at the cmr dealer called diablo and diablo's tech told him there were no adjustments for this truck as they had issue with blowing up trannys? kredrocket has the same truck and tuner as mine and is also having difficulty finding tcm adjustments as well. if someone is confused, then i would greatly appreciate some help with this and advise me the next steps to take. i really want to get this fixed. THANKS A MILLION!

Are you using a predator or the InTune. I am using the InTune and from what I can tell the InTune is where the issue lies.rt9602 wrote:Uh, well, that's what my intune does but I'm no tuner... just a shadetree idiot with a Dodge and a high-tech toyand it works great for all I wanted to do...
Maybe Mikel was addressing curtpittman?

I spoke to that tuner on friday personally, and thats not how the conversation went at all.
I explained to him clearly that it sounded like this truck had a 04 based calid, which was not supported, it is rarem, but does show up on some 05 models.
I also advised that maybe updating the TCM at the dealer would help, but was not sure.
I explained to him that tuning the trans on these rams is scary, as you can cause issues really fast if you make one wrong move, not sure how that got turned into what you posted, but...all good.
when you say the other guy is having difficulty finding adjustments, does that mean he has no TCM tunes either, or can't find the parameters?

Ok. Just got off the phone with the CMR dealer. PRE Racing out of Portland. Tech's name is Bobby and he spoke to you Mike last Tuesday morning when I was at his shop. The determination was that my 05 is an early 05 and has TCM computer from 04. Apparently they changed this mid-way through 05 to a new 05 TCM computer. Diablo tuners have TCM adjustments for the later 05 models but not the earlier models. Is this correct?

the cmr dealer cant do anything unless the tool supports the TCM calibrations, so its a tough spot to be in there.

Ok so is this what is happening to mine? I have an early 05 so mine might have an 04 TCM. Can this be flashed to 05 perameters? I HAVE NO TCM CONTROL. THE INTUNE NEVER SHOWS TCM.

I was running a superchips 3815 before the intune and I was able to do some adjustments and the shift schedule was so much nicer. Everything felt solid and the truck always felt like it was in the perfect gear for power. And now with the stock shift schedule the truck feels sloppy.

i did. nothing has changed as far as tcm tune adjustments are concerned. i did get the tcm cal id from the dealer though which is apparently the only way to get it on our truck since the tuner will not show it. i sent that to diablo and their gm/mopar tech specialist is working on it as i write this. i will keep you posted, fingers crossed.

Update and not the update I wanted to hear:
My engineer states that your TCM calibration is not supported which is most likely due to the early build vehicle. according to your vin it is an 05 but the software is 04 and We do not support tcms on 04’s
So essentially we were sold a product that does not function as advertised. I am waiting for a response as to why competitors such as EDGE and SUPERCHIPS offer TCM adjustability while DIABLO does not. Although Diablo offers CMR support, I would have never bought this tuner if I knew there was no TCM adjustability. It seems that other tuners are superior for our year and make of vehicle at this point in time.
