Microsoft C++ Runtime Error HELP!

Post by rylee5 »

I have been using CMR on the same laptop for the last few years without issue, until the other day when a Microsoft C++ Runtime Error appeared after I entered my password. (see screen shot)

After clicking "ok", the program closes.

I was on a fairly old version of CMR, so I figured it was time to update. I uninstalled my current version of CMR (and deleted the folder from the C: drive) and downloaded the latest installer. (4.7.0.92a)

With the new version of CMR installed, I had the same issue as before, so I downloaded the BETA update. (4.9.0.1) No luck there either.

Has anyone else run across this? I am running an old (4 years, need to upgrade soon...) Lenovo ThinkPad with Windows XP. The only thing that changed before this issue arose was I installed the latest version of Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 that was needed for another piece of software I use.

I honestly think that it is something with my computer, and not CMR, but I figured you guys here might have some thoughts on how to get back up and running.

Please help. This happened with a car on the dyno, it was a little embarrassing...

I'll double check my windows updates and install 5.0. In the mean time, can you check and see if I have an available install license? I might temporarily use another laptop while I try to get this sorted.

Thanks Jon

Excellent, I thought so.

I'll try the 5.0 update this evening when I get a chance.

Thanks again for the help.

FWIW, skip 5.0, you dont need it unless you buy the Diesel software, just load 47092 and the 4901 update to avoid any possible issues.

Thanks
