hahaha. I have to admit though. I bought the u7194 thinking that it already had the ability to remove TM. I was very disappointed with my waste of 300$ or whatever I paid for it. Boy was I fooled. I should have read the descriptions a little closer and I would have given my money to superchips or hptuners. Now I have to sit back and hope that the TCM update is really coming out in another month liek the said. but they also said it would be released in august/september. hahaha what a joke.

Hey 06MonteSS -- care to comment?

Inquiring minds would like to know. Anything gonna happen soon?

Oh, wait, got that answer back in July -- release in August 07!

All right, guys. It kind of sucks. I too wish it was the full version that most of the other programmers have. But "giving your money" to superchips or hypertech wouldn't have done you any good. If you bothered to read their FULL descriptions of the specific programmer, you would have seen that they too do NOT support many features that previous models did. It is not just Diablosport. You would then be griping on their forums instead of this one.

It's well know that Hypertech doesn't address it and they don't claim to. That's one of the reasons folks come here. My problem with Diablosport is that they mislead potential buyers into expecting the function exists. Intentional or not, they have to know it's a common occurrence and it would be very simple to put a line on the 7194 product page that notes TM isn't available for this specific programmer yet. My other issue is that they appear to repeatedly promise this feature, as well as others in other products, are "going to be out within the month" or by a specific date and then don't deliver. Other than feeling that they've been duped, nothing infuriates a customer more and damages a vendors credibility than consistently and repeatedly missing promised delivery dates.

Agree But.......

Post by santaman58 »

I totally agree that customer service and honesty are top priority! It is the lifeblood of ANY business! I also understand that some assurances here have been misleading as well as documentation that leads one to believe they are getting something and they actually get something different. But....we as consumers have to be alert to always read the fine print of anything we buy into...it is OUR responsibility. It is also Diablosport's responsibility to be more upfront and clear about what they are selling! Work on your web pages and do a better job with your descriptions and advertising...that will make things much better for us and you...period.

With regards to Diablosport's product, particularly the Predator, I for one am very willing to be patient especially since it is the only programmer I know of that allows a decent variety of programming options... especially with the new DoD (aka: Active Fuel Management) turn off feature. I spoke directly to Superchips and they are not offering and do not plan to offer that feature... ever. As for me it was the deciding feature to sway my purchase decision. For that I thank Diablosport! As for the TM issue I can wait as I feel that it is likely going to be a future feature of the programmer as the reps here have stated.... just might take a while.

I also commend Diablosport for allowing a forum here...very few, if any, of the other makers of programmer sites will take a chance on the negative effects that a forum can provide. I think it is bold and correct that Diablosport does this. That is the way it should be!

yeah but I would be willing to bet the value of my 7194 that it still won't be available around the 1st.

I commend DiabloSport for supporting this website, but listing parameters that a product doesn't have is WRONG no matter what the fine print says. Please take five minutes and write down what it DOES have on the d@mn product page. And FGS have someone do it who knows WTF they're writing about.

I definitely won't be buying another since it's a crap shoot on what I'm getting. Yeah, you can tell me to read the fine print... but IMO I shouldn't have to GUESS the basic content of my purchase.

There may have been no malice of fore thought, but I still feel duped. I guess I'll do DiabloSports job for them.

BEWARE THAT THE U7194 WILL DO NOTHING FOR YOUR THROTTLE DELAY OR SKIP SHIFTS UP TO AND INCLUDING THE 8r10 CROM UPDATE. NONE OF THE TORQUE MANAGEMENT FEATURES LISTED ARE SUPPORTED BY THIS MODEL PROGRAMMER.

Sorry to vent on everyone.

You are wrong.
Skip shift, that works fine on all CAGS equipped vehicles.
Throttle delay, that is known as PE delay, and is removed in the tunes as well.
Your initial complaint was no ability to remove TM, but it is reduced in the tunes already.

Things like timing and fuel are altered in the tunes.

Thanks
Ok, I'm confused then. Are TM and CAGS adjusted in the base tunes on my U7194 or not. Is PE differrent from "abuse mode" described in the TM parameters? I skimmed the parameters/product page and missed any reference to the term PE.

You guys need to get a tech writer that knows how to write / translate to your target customer base. There's a real communication disconnect here. You're selling handhelds; advanced, but still handhelds. The folks coming to you for product aren't exactly tech idiots, but we all probably do something that doesn't involve total immersion in automotive tuning software for a living and aren't completely conversant, either.
Clarity on what's actually in the product and realistic delivery dates for content updates and changes are definitely in order and in everyone's best interest.

This will be added when TCM support is added.

Thanks
So Mike, when will this be available? None of you guys have bothered to answer this question, and I know that a lot of us would be less upset with a simple, straight answer. Even if you were to say "I have no idea, we're working on it", we would at least be able to know that your answer was honest and forthright, and not a canned response to shut us up for a while. Look, I like your product, as it seems we all do, but in order to not get trashed on other automotive forums (which most of us probably belong to), your character will speak louder than the performance of your product at this point.

I have not been shy about saying that I do not have an ETA for when this project will be complete, but, I can say for sure that it will be done.

Ok, I can live with that answer. But I have one more question before I decide whether I want to buy into the U7194. Specifically, will this unit, in it's currently shipped form and/or with currently available downloads, allow me to adjust the part throttle shift points and shift firmness in my 2008 5.3 Avalanche?
