Well...Crap!

Post by SGTJP »

Well People,

I have a 2011 SS Camaro (14, 500 miles) , iTune 1000, CAI...I was driving last night....Got on it a bit and was shifting fron first to second...."pop!"....the the next thing I notice is T/C light is on on the off....and when I try to accelerate... it grinds and eventially picks up speep in 2nd gear...I make it home in second gear and barely make it in the driveway. Any first impressions to what has happened. I did re-install original tune settings with no problems with my inTuner today.....I'm waiting for the Tow truck as we speak then off to dealership....Darn good way to start the day!

Update,

The Chevy dealer is saying it is either the T/C or rear end gearing...anyway, it is being repaired and i'm in a rental! No inTuner issues at all...thx Mike!

They know they couldn't blame the tuner because they have no proof. They need to be able to directly prove that a mod caused the problem, which they can't do if the tune is no longer in the vehicle.

True Dat! But, I really do think it was just a major failure within the T/C/rear end...I've read that when the Camaro's came out there were "incidents" concerning catastrophic failures....who knows, but WE GOOD! Thx Man!

I've heard of some torque converter issues on the ZL1s, but not the SS models, but good to know that it was a random failure :)

I think thats what my problem may be, not the TCM program. Not like I can just bring a 700hp CTS-V to the dealer and ask for a new converter though.
