Help with tune (Random mulitple misfire with big cam)

Post by ssheets »

The one thing I can't tune out is "Random multiple misfires" I'm running a lot of cam and I think I just need to tune out the lower rpm checks. With my Predator I don't think I can do this though? Can anyone change this parameter if I email them my tune?

Any other advice??

My cam is not huge, but not small it's 232/234 duration and .600" lift with a 112 LSA.

if you're runnin' a cam like that, you really need to get a custom dyno tune in order to get it all setup correctly...

I agree...I'm just having a hard time finding anyone around here. That's why I'm working with Jesse at Wait4me, but it's a long distance tuning relationship so these gremlins are hard to fix. His PCM doesn't give me any misfire codes, but I get more IAC problems.

There's a shop about 60 miles from here that is a Diablo tuner, but I haven't heard great things about them. They want about $700 to tune the car, which includes some dyno time. For that kind of money I could buy tuning software and a wideband so I'm not sure where to spend my money?

Email me your extra tune from the Predator and I'll have the P0300 turned off.

Thanks

Thanks, I'm running my mail order PCM now from Wait4me...now that I fixed my vacuum leak!

I'll probably email you the tune anyway though so I have a back up tune that will run the engine without SES codes. Just in case I want to send the Wait4me box back for tweaking.
