'06 Chevy Silverado - Performance tune question

I've got an '06 Chevy Silverado with the 5.3L engine. Truck is basically stock. I've got a Predator U7192 on its way to me. Up till now I have used 89 octane fuel in the truck. However with the Predator I plan to use the performance tune and use 93 octane fuel. My question is should I run a tank or two of 93 octane fuel before I install the performance tune or would it be ok to fill up with 93 octane for the first time and then immediately install the high octane tune? Thanks.

You can go ahead and install the performance tune. Your truck has knock sensors which will trigger if any detonation occurs due to the lower octane fuel.The performance will be a little less if this occurs but as soon as the lower octane fuel is used up you will be fine.
