Serious midrange and topend KR

Post by Mike_Levy »

Just logged the V before swapping the snout and upper pulley and I'm not liking what I'm seeing. The midrange and top end is knocking like crazy at WOT. No other time though. And it does it with the dumps open or closed. I'm seriously wondering if adding more boost is wise at this point. It'll feel great for normal driving, but when hammering it, there may be no gain and possibly even a power loss due to the KR.

I'm trying to attach the log, but I'm getting the message "Could not upload attachment to ./attachments/forumfiles/7135_e8d24a784e11c65f87321101225d1e7d."

BTW: The dealer locator isn't working either. :punisher:

I've noticed a few pings at wot up a long, fairly steep hill just before it shifts to second (about 5500 rpm and about 47-48 mph). but, as I'm running the 87 octane tune (Sonoco 87 octane gas), have the A/C on, and usually don't push it that hard, I'm not concerned. On a level road, it blows through 5000 rpm to shift (5500) so fast it doesn't have time to knock. Haven't really tried the dealer locater yet. Hasn't been any need.

File is on its way to you. Car has 93 octane BP in the tank. Only thing I've ever put in this car upto this point. Wondering if it may be a bad tank, because it's never done this before. Last log it just had a small spike on a shift and then it was gone. This time 2300rpm and up its constant.

Also, whats up with the huge fuel spike on start-up? It injects more then twice as much fuel there then it ever does at WOT.

So, I'm pretty much SOL until I put in the new IC pump, huh Mike? I did find the fittings, from Meziere. Just hoping they're gonna work.
