Diablo tune questions

Post by Exhausted1 »

I have some questions on the tune
Can the diablo tune run fine on 91 octane thats the highest I have around here
The next is will I see a good improvement in mpg or better with the mileage booster

Also does the firm and hard transmission shift setting effect part throttle as well as WOT or do I have to ajust that in the modify settings

Thanks

From what I have read, if you have a 91 octane tune use it, the diablo tune is for 93 only. If you only have a diablo tune it is good for 91 or 93. Most people do not run the mileage booster because the lose of driveability isn't worth the light increase in fuel economy. The TCM tuning, when you select firm or hard it adjusts the whole tune, you can individually change WOT and part throttle shift firmeness as well as some other options.

ok so the firm/hard shift already has increased the part throttle some but I can choose more if I want to.
I have 91 in there now, but just in case what does knockretard sound like?

You aren't gonna be able to hear knock. If you can hear it with your ears, its gone too far and you're damaging the engine. The only way to know if its happening before you break something is to log.

When the knock sensor trigger, they will pull timing out of the tune to prevent detonation. You do not hear the knock sensors pull timing, but you can sometimes feel the loss in hp at wide open throttle. Data log your runs to see if you are experiencing knock retard.

what's your vehicle???

for trucks, the Diablo Tune is made for 91 octane, or higher...

that's why you have tune choices of 87 octane or Diablo Tune...
