I finally got my intune working, hooked it up to my 2008 silverado, and tried to modify the stock tuning. I was able to turn off my speed limit, but when i tried to adjust the speed limiter to different settings, it remained at 96mph. I also tried to adjust the shifting RPMs, shift pressure, and the torque; but nothing had any noticable effect on the stock shift patterns. Are these features simply not supported for an '08 silverado?
Or is it possible that my intune isnt set up properly, even though there are no current updates for it?
I am worried about trying out the canned tunes, but if i do try one and end up wiping out my computer, again; is there any way to recover my stock tune, or save it somewhere on my PC so that i can use a different programmer to restore it?

Re: Intune Limitations?
Maybe doing my tuning at the parking lot of the nearest GM dealership would be my safest bet
Re: Intune Limitations?
You can save your factory files and it is highly recommended. Since you have been able to modify the factory tuning for the ECM and TCM you should have ORI (original tune files) for both as well as the LTW (last tune written files for each) in the inTune drive. Find them and save them to your desk top. If you're really worried about a ECM problem I would wait until the guys are back at work to help you through your problem.

Re: Intune Limitations?
have you registered the inTune through the auto-updater app it has?? if you don't register it, you can't do all of the updates to it - it only lets you do a few of them... and there are a lot, so you need to register it....
here's the info I give people that purchase an intune from me:
the first thing you will need to do is connect it to your PC and do the registration to register it.. if you don't register it, you are only allowed to do two updates to it - and there are a lot more than that that you will need to let it do, hehe... if during the registration, there's not an option for your exact vehicle info, it doesn't matter, just select any make/model vehicle, it makes no difference for this email registration... the important part is that you just get it registered.
after you do the registration, let it do its updates... there are a lot of them, so it may take a while (45 min? or more?)...
and when it seems like after its finally done and just sitting at the main screen, then unplug it from your pc, wait a few seconds... then plug it back in again.. and it will probably do some more updates....
after all the updating is done... then you can connect it to your vehicle and select a tune to install... if you have an automatic transmission and it's supported, it should also ask you to select a TCM tune to install - either firm shift or hard shift....
then, install the tunes and you're good to go....

Re: Intune Limitations?
Well i parked at the nearest GM service bay and tried out the Diablotune, and it worked just fine. What i was trying to do before was modify my stock shift points, and that didnt seem to work.
And good idea to transfer the files to the desktop, thanks for that.
