u 7165 PID's

Post by mauere1 »

I have the u7165 rev V.9T14B , cal ID vxap2n2 and the PID for oil temp is in deg C. Can this be made to read deg f? When towing 8k trailer the temp runs around 65 deg C and surely thats not right because that translates to about 150 deg F. My coolant temp shows around 190 deg F.

I'm having the exact same issue with my Trinity T1000 as well and have tried three different and two being brand new OEM oil pressure sensors from the dealer. Check my thread titled Gauges in the general Trinity forum

Well,,, looks like you got the same run around that I got, Diablo actually told me that my readings were correct because the ford uses an external oil cooler. I could not believe that when I read it.

Well we may be in luck. They told me I was the only one having this problem and until more than just my unit was having this issue they would'nt investigate. And it's wrong on both C and F settings. I think I will be directing this to Mike L's attention that low and behold it's not just my unit. I take it yours issue hasn't been resolved before I do send it to him. I will wait to hear back from you. Cheers, Don

I never said it was your unit....if I thought yours was showing different than anyone elses, id have had you send it in :)

Also, where did I give anyone a runaround, or say that the values were correct?

I clearly asked if you had another scan tool to verify the data, I never once said 'it is correct'.

Thanks

Mike, your exact words from my thread your first response, "Well, the Trinity wont make this data up, got access to any scan tool that can show you the same data to verify it?"

That tells me you think I'm making things up. I did tell you in my thread referrenced earlier in this thtread that I did verify with my Torque program and my Autoenginuity laptop software that the readings on the Trinity were wrong and offered up pictures to verify if you could let me know how to attach them as there is no means of attaching pictures here. I'm not being a dick I just want the unit to do correctly what I replaced the Predator for (the gauge option). Hell I already had one of your tuners I only want this one to work right.

No sir, assumptions are a terrible thing to make in any case.

I was asking if you could verify the data as I have no way to tell you if it is correct or not, and another scan tool would 'verify' that. Why in the world would you think that I am here to say you are lying? I would not have even replied to the thread if i thought you were making this up.

As mentioned earlier, i have reported and documented this issue, but it will be some time before we get a chance to look into it as there are several other projects ahead of this at this time.

Thanks

No problem that's all I was asking in the first place. An approximate time line would be greatly appreciated. As I mentioned, I have proven the unit to be wrong and just want you guy's to work on a soloution to my problem and remedy it.
Thanks,
Don

My predator is definitely not right as it shows the oil temp in DEGC and I verified it is definitely not right if converted to F.

There's two units not reporting oil temperatures correctly for sure Mike. As well as the confirmation from my AE and Torque App. I'm sure if I post the question as a pointed thread I will be able to get more replies for you. Maybe you can work on moving it up the to do list.

Mike,

Where do we stand on this issue? As I mentioned the oil temp reads 60degC yet I used a thermal temp gun on the oil pan and it said 195degf so I am wanting to verify the predator.
