Heres a good one....

Post by Ryan500 »

So I got my truck back today, lifted, big tires, last thing to do is plug in my updated (brand new) intune.... connection went easy to truck, plug in the intune gently and no lights or nothing.... 2 secs later a little smoke from the connection to the intune and it's done.

Whats up with this thing? I bought it brand new like 2 days ago and it smokes the connection.... anyone else had this?

sounds like maybe the connector got damaged at some point and caused a short.

We'll fix it asap or you can see if the retailer can swap it out for you.

Thanks

Well thats just awesome, I'm going to see the retailer this am, a very good local place. I'll post up results.

Has this happened to a few of em? I'm concearned that I will be good for the first couple tunes with a new one then have that connection pile up on me later?

Thanks!

If you send it here it wont happen again for sure, if they can swap it out, ask for one with a later date code on the box ;)

Ok thanks. So by that I'm hearing the ones saying 05-12 and earlier are prone to this.

Any advice now how to get this thing running?

Sounds like you are on the same path as my 300SRT8. Just keep going back and forth from PC update to your truck. Should take 3 trips if I remember to get the updates for the vin right. You sound like 2 are done, so just once more and you should be fine. Once it connects, it will be fine every time after. I've plugged mine in a few times to play with things. Works like a charm.

Nope, it takes a lot of manual setup to get these things working. Diablo released a few batches of them before they were ready.
