yes, this was the fix.

load 1r09 to the tool, then let it auto update to 1r09b, pick your vehicle, then the cal update process will work as expected

Mine was previously updated to 1r09c. I just downloaded 1r09b and I've ran through the update twice, but when I go to show info, it shows that I'm still on 1r09c. How do I get 1r09c off???

Down load the basic 1r09. Then update to the b version.
