Turns off when SD is inserted

When I try to put the SD card in my Trinity to back up my factory tune, as soon as it's in, the unit turns off. When I take it out, it comes back on right away. Am I doing something wrong?

The SD Card needs to be in when the unit is booting.

Thanks for the reply! I will try that again tonight, but when I plugged it in with the card inserted, it didn't come on at all. Maybe I'm not letting it sit long enough? Does it take longer to boot up with the SD card installed?

1) It needs to be formatted.



2) You need to reboot the Trinity.. IE - unplug it from the OBD2 port or unplug the cable from the Trinity.

Note - each time you remove and re-install the SD you must reboot the Trinity.

plug the sd in before you power the unit up.

I am putting the card in before I connect the unit to the car. When I do that, it doesn't power up at all. As soon as I click it loose, it starts up, and when I push the card in, it immediately shuts down. Would formatting it correct that? What exactly do I have to do to format it?

You would format it through your computer. I don't think the Trinity can format SD cards. If you don't have a laptop or a computer with an SD slot, you can get an SD to USB adapter for next to nothing on eBay.
