2010 Colorado 5.3 tcm

Post by FrizzleFry »

First off I would like to say hi to everyone as this is my first post. HI.

I have a 2010 colorado 2wd with a 5.3 v8 and 4 speed auto and a new to me trinity (6jwgc08-1).
After installing DS downloader and updating the trinity on my computer I plugged it into my truck and installed the diablotune. I cant remember at what point it popped up but I had a screen that said "support for "TCM" disabled. restore original backup to enable support."

Does this mean that the tune doesn't adjust my shifts? Do I need to restore the original tune and enable tcm support somehow?

I am on version v.1r09g ..... I don't really know what other info to provide.

I'm also driving a 2010 Colorado with a 5.3. (3.42 gears) You should be able to change the TCM without changing the tune but be prepared for FIRM and FIRMER shifts. I left my TCM stock and just made an adjustment for bigger tires and the economy tune.

On another note. My valve train started rattling like a deisel a couple thousand miles ago and the mileage went to hell (22 to 15 on the road). The dealership informed me that they would have to tear the heads off to correct the problem and it's not exactly rare on the 5.3. I know this isn't a DS problem but I would like to know if anyone else has any info.

let it read the TCM backup then email it to us or post it here so we can add support for it.

would only save pcm file, so after a quick phone call to tech support to ask them how to save the tcm file I was directed to restore the original backup and then reload a tune.

Voila. backed up both tcm and pcm. I attached them just in case, but there is really no need for it as it worked and now the truck is tuned as
pcm: diablo tune
tcm: trans firm shift tune

thank you for your help guys!

now i just need for this snow to go away so I can try it :D
