Modifying and Saving as a Custom Tune

OK, I have the 91 Performance tune loaded (surprised that
89 and 91 were the only two choices and no 93 tune available)
and went to Modify the Tune only to discover that when
selecting items to modify the inTune does not show you
what the current value is of the item you are modifying.

Not knowing the current value makes selecting the new
value a guessing game. Like the Cooling Fan On settings.
I want the cooling fans to come on 5 degrees earlier all
the way across the board. Not knowing the current settings,
its almost imposable to subtract 5 degrees from each.
Or the Throttle Booster that gives you the option of a
setting of 0-100%. What is the percentage of boost that
is already present in the OEM 91 Performance tune?
If it is currently set at 50% in the 91 Performance Tune,
a new modified setting of 50% would not produce any
noticable difference. But if I knew the current setting,
inserting a new value to get the desired result (more
or less boost) would be real easy.

I got that far and stopped because of lack of knowlege
of how to determine the new values to enter to get the
desired results. Other than trial and error with hundreds
of tune loads and trial runs. You cant get to where you
want to be if you do not know where you are currently at.

And once I do get all the modifiable parameters set and
loaded onto the vehicle, how do save this as a Custom
Tune for future reloading like after a Stock Tune Restore
prior to a dealership visit? Or do I have to Modify all
the parameters again before loading the Tune?

93 tune is listed as 'diablo tune' in many cases, but if there is a 91 tune there, there is also a 93 tune there...

you're making it too difficult....

if you want to lower fan temps by 5*, just lower them (-5).

If you want to add throttle boost, add it. You are starting with whatever the tune is set to.
If you start with the 91 tune (which we add 15 % to, then you add 15%, you're 30% over stock.
If you start with the mod stock tune, and add 15%, you are at 15% over stock.

As mentioned in the other thread, once you load that tune, export a copy of the last tune written, rename it, and theres your new custom tune for after your next dealer visit.

I thought if I put -5 in there, the fans would come on at 5 degrees below zero.

And on the throttle booster 0-100% you can add but not subtract from
the 15% of boost already in there with a 91 tune?

Maybe I am making it harder than it is but I think logically and if it is not logical,
I just do not get it. Period.

you really are making it more difficult than it is.

I think I explained it pretty well?

Last I checked, fan settings show the current temps, and you increase or decrease the temp setting from there.

Throttle boost can be removed I believe as well, 0 (where it starts) is no change from how the tune is set, then you can add or subtract from there.

I see the 'diablo tune' but the description does not lend itself to
a 93 Octane Performance Tune...

since you have a separate 91 Octane Tune listed there, yes, the Diablo Tune is made for 93 octane... don't let the description about "fuel economy" throw ya, heh.. it is the 93 octane tune, and yes people generally gain a little mpg as well, so that's why that says that in the description...

The tunes available for my other vehicle (07 Mustang) shows a 89, 91 and
93 Octane tunes. No 'Diablo Tune' there...
Quite confusing.
The 89 is named 89, the 91 is named 91 but the 93 is not,
but instead called 'Diablo Tune' for the 09 Challenger?
And for the 07 Mustang, it is named '93 Octane', not 'Diablo Tune'.

But if it takes 93 to run the 'Diablo Tune' on the 09 Challenger that is what
will be in the fuel tank.

I just didnt want to waste 93 Octane on an Economy Tune...

How it the inTune going to handle 'Custom Tunes' generated by me for two different vehicles.
Will the Challengers 'Custom Tunes' created while locked to the Challengers VIN be seen
when the device is locked to the Mustangs VIN and vise-versa?

no.. since it's by VIN, when you are connected to the challenger, only the challenger tunes will be listed... and when connected to the stang, only the stang tunes will be listed...

So in the inTunes internal drive where I put the 'custom tune'
I renamed from the 'last tune written' for the Challenger will
there be a mix of 'custom tunes' from both vehicles once
generated by me from both vehicles?
In other words, do I really need to name the 'custom tunes'
with the vehicle they are for so as not to get them mixed
up when viewing them thru windows explorer?
