Dang. Well at least I can enjoy the Trinity in the RAM.

The tuner is definetly worth it huh ? I really want the Trinity but since I have security issues with my soft top, i'm going to mount the tuner inside the dash. Out of sight. Seems like a waste for me to spend the extra $$ on the Trinity VS the I 1000 unless it has some other useable features for my needs. I already have a pretty good code reader that has live monitoring if need be. Are there any other upgrades that the Trinity has that the step down model dosent that you know of other than the fuel economy setting and nicer display? I have a hi-flow exhaust already and i'm installing a snorkel in the spring so i'll be looking to change the CAI setting.

I just got the Trinity this week so am still messing around with it. So far, I've only tried two of the installed tunes, a 93 octane performance and a High MPG. I use it in my 2012 RAM 1500 (5.7L Hemi), and Diablosport only recently broke the ECU codes for the 2012. My main interest in the Trinity is the ability to eliminate Torque Management, which really saps power off the start. I intend to create a custom tune, once I've logged some of my use of the canned tunes, so we'll see then. One thing that I can report is that the 93 Octane canned tune is quite a performance upgrade over OEM. Based on my "butt dyno" of course. The Trinity has customizable logging including selectable guages, so if your looking to maximize either performance or mileage, it seems amply capable. I can also install the tune and unplug the Trinity so it would seem that your security problem would only be a problem while logging.

For the 04 Jeep I'm not so concerned with max-tuning it, with a 6 inch lift 37's and 4.56 gears it gets up and goes here in the Rockies as desired. I guess that I was hoping to be able to fine tune it (or just mess around).

BTW - with discounts and the unit on sale at the time, I got mine for around $425 to my door. So you may wish to wait for a sale.

Wow, I wasn't aware that you could unplug the unit without going back to stock programming. I'd like to get a confirmation from Diablo staff that I could do that with my jeep. That would be the deal breaker between the two.

I just want a HP upgrade over stock. I only plan on using the 87 octane tune unless i'm offroading. I'll switch over to 93 octane a few days before I'm hitting the trail so I can maximize the full power. Sounds like you have a nice rig there. Have you thought about Ebaying a PCM from an 05-06 so you can use the tuner in your jeep? My unlimited isn't stock either. 4.25" Long arm lift. D44 front and rear. ARB locked on 35's with 4.56 gears. I had 33's with the 4.56 and thought the RPMs were too high. Was Killing my almost non-existant fuel economy. When I upgraded to the 35's it brought down my RPM's really close to stock but i'm not happy with the power loss on the road for passing and stuff.

$425? damm thats amazing. Lowest I can get The Trinity for is $540 to my door.

Hey Mikel, After downloading a tune to my PCM, can I remove either the Trinity or I1000 with the tune still functioning normally in my jeep ? I have theft concerns with my soft top and that would be great to be able to remove the programmer from it in between changing tunes/settings. Thanks.

^^^^ I did a bunch of on line searches and found my answer on a Chevy forum regarding the tuner removal after loading the tune. Not having to leave the tuner in my jeep is a huge selling point for me. That info wasnt even even in Trinity uaer manual. I also learned alot more about the tuners and how they work. Good stuff.

yes, you'll get tunes for 87, 91, 93 octane and the crawl tune.
manual cals usually make about 5 rwhp more than the autos.

Hey Mike, I got my InTune. Did the updates and loaded a tune into my Jeep. It feels good. Definetly gave me back the power I lost from lifting, armor and bigger tires. While I was loading my tune I didn't notice the Crawl tune as being an option. The available tunes are Diablo, 91 octane, 87 octane, MPG booster tune and the bottom bar reads 'Modify stock tune'. Is there anywhere else I can look for the Crawl tune ? Thanks.

Scrolling is unfortunately not an option on that screen with the other tunes. There are other screens that can scroll so i know what to look for.

I can post a pic of the tune screen if that will help. Maybe the mpg saver was installed in lieu of the crawl tune?

Hey Mike, theres no crawl tune programmed in my InTune. Any way i can possibly get it emaildx or updated somehow? Im giong offroading next weekend and was really looking foward to using it. Thanks.
