Tuning Question - CAI and WOT

Post by 12ChargerRT »

Hi,

I have 12 Charger RT with Mopar CAI and Borla Cat-Back exhaust. Am running 91 tune but I could not see any improvement in the car except a better response after increasing the throttle parameter to 20% .

my friend suggest to me to add 5 % fuel WOT as well but I am no expert in this field. is that OK to add 5% more ??

Thanks,

It's fine to add fuel. Diablo adds 5% to their CAI tunes off the bat. DOn't add fuel just to add fuel though. Do some logs and see if it's warranted. If you see ST or LT knock, add fuel in increments of 5% (up to 15% or so max) and see if it goes away. Adding 5% won't hurt anything if you don't want to log first and just want to see if it feels different, but I would still do some logs, especially if you add more than 5%. No need to add fuel if it's not needed.

Anybody know if a CAI tune adds fuel in all ranges or just the upper rpms?

Shall I add on all RPM ranges ? Thanks,

Like mentioned above, do a log of the tune and pay attention to ST and LT knock, if you see it, add the fuel in whatever RPM range it's knocking, if you don't then don't bother. Just don't go blindly adding fuel if it's not warranted.

Yes, you can add 5% in all 3 ranges and be fine. I'm pretty sure that DS does it at all ranges in their CAI tunes, but I'm not 100% positive. 5% won't hurt as it's only at WOT anyway and not just regular cruising speed. You would need a CMR tune for that. I would still recomend logging though to see if you're getting any knock.

if there is no LT & ST, in this case I understand that there is no need to add Fuel !! is that right ???
