I just received the Diablo inTune for my Jeep the other day and successfully loaded the canned 91 tune. I'm loving the response of the vehicle now, it always seemed a bit sluggish to me.
Most gas stations where I live have 93 octane (which is currently in my vehicle now). I'm on the fence on whether or not to load the 93 tune.
Am I safer running the 91 tune with 93 octane gas, or would you guys recommend running the 93 / Diablo tune?
What happens if I'm low on fuel and the gas station I go to only has 91 octane? Will there be engine knock? Is the 93 tune pushing the limits of the vehicle?
I'm happy with the 91 tune but curiosity has me second guessing if I should be running the 93, especially since I'm running 93 octane gas currently.
Does anyone notice a difference between the 91 and 93 canned tunes or is it really just negligible gains?
Also, are there custom tunes available for my vehicle, I did not see it listed on any of the Custom Tune dealer sites.
Curious to see what everyone else is running / opinions.
Thanks,
Chris

If your using 93 octane your safe on the 91 tune. If you go to the 93 tune make sure you data log and keep an eye on Knock during WOT. Under no circumstances should you run the 93 tune on 91 octane your knock will be thru the roof. I have my challenger on the 93 tune. I pulled 3deg of timing and added 5% fuel to eliminate all knock. I do have a catch can, k&n cai, flowmaster cat back. This is on a 2012 challenger rt. Check with whitelightning for a custom tune he seems very knowledgable.

I was told even with the 91 tune, you should be using 93 octane

Thanks for the replies. To be on the safe side, I'm going to stick with the 91 tune and run 93 gas. The Jeep has been running like a champ with no issues and much more responsive than it was previously. I'd be interested in a CMR tune for further refinement, but I'm happy with the canned 91.

I have a 2011 jeep cherokee hemi. Anyone know why a 93 tune isn't even an option on my dcx?

It should be labeled "Diablo" which is the 93 tune.
I think when I first tuned the car, i'm not sure if it appeared or not. I think 91 was the first option. After I pushed that to the vehicle I now see "Diablo" above the 91.
Maybe I'm misremembering, the Diablo tune could have been there the entire time. It's there as an option now.
