'12 JKU questions

Post by mudhog99 »

1. TPMS parameters. I adjusted down to 0 psi (not running spare tire or TPMS sensors anymore) and light stays on. Is there a way around this?

2. Tire size. Do I input tire size by sidewall or actual height of tire on ground with weight. 37" currently on.

3. Did not have enough time during lunch to go through all the settings but is there a setting to change for ring and pinion ratio (if needed with InTune). The AEV ProCal had the option, just curious if I will be able to do this as well.

Other than that, thanks for making a product for us Jeep owners with the new 3.6.

1. No, we can't disable the light.
2. There are options for either input, actual height is the best option.
3. I have an test version I can send that should do axle ratio, but I have not had a Jeep with swapped gears to confirm it on yet...

Thanks

ok.

whats the point of being able to adjust the tire pressure then? if i go to 0 psi and the Jeep is reading 0 psi wouldn't that work?
ill put actual height in.
ill be regearing in the next couple of weeks. I will shoot you a message at that point if you need a guinea pig.

Thanks Mikel!

0 psi is different than NO signal from the sensor :)

Let me know when you are ready for the gear swap!

hmmm....well damn. any plans on having that ability? do you know of any tricks to get around this? that was the one feature I was hoping for other than performance gains.

1- Reinstall the sensors and use the intune as advertised.
or
2- put a sensor inside a sealed and pressurized PVC tube and mount 1 on each corner of the jeep so the sensors can rotate somehow faster than 10 mph so they can stay active and your light will go out and stay out. Wish there was an easier way...

Gotcha. i have heard of other vehicles where you can do the pvc tube trick and put the canister under the seat...but that does not seem to be the case for a jeep... damn. that might be a deal breaker with keeping the intune.

I can understand the desire to have that feature, but there is no other tuner available for the 12 Wrangler, and there are still many benefits to the intune :)

2 check engine codes on initial setup. Body controller (?) & a fan code. Cleared and good to go. Currently getting around 10 mpg put thats all stop n go. Exhaust seems to sound more throaty.

ten4. whenever you want to send over the program for the gear swap go ahead!

on that note, what is the exact benefit of being able to change the settings on the ratio? (from an experts word, not the internet mechanics)

well, ideally the ratio setitng only needs to be changed if the pcm cares about it, it cant tell on 07-10 Wranglers, so it dont need to know.
It seems the 12 uses that value in shift pattern settings likely, and as a result when the gears turn much quicker than they expect, it limps the trans and thinks it is slipping, so programming the correct ratio will keep it from being a problem.

Emailing you the update now.

mudhog99, I was perusing this thread to see how you made out. I came across this:
"(from an experts word, not the internet mechanics)"
So since there was an over abundance (sarcasm) of posters on/in this thread... is this comment aimed at me?
