The difference between WO spark and MBT WO spark.

The difference between WO spark and MBT WO spark.
I run at the track. My tuner told me to use the predator to take 10 degrees of timing out in the 1-3.8 range to help with my launch. I went in and found that ther are two types of timing listed MBT WO spark and WO spark. which should I be retarding. He said take 10 out and try it, keep retarding the timing in that range only until I did not get any wheel spin off the line. Then go back and put maybe one or two degrees back in until it just spins. Then back off 1 degree. I like to put the pedal to the floor and so does he. He is a diablo tuner and has been building mopars for a long time. He is out of town on vacation so I was hoping one of you would know. Thanks.

thats an interesting method....?
to be honest, you ought to get with a cmr tuner and work on a true custom tune, but for now if you want to try this, pull from both MBT and WOT.
10* seems like a LOT to me....

Re: The difference between WO spark and MBT WO spark.
He is a CMR tuner he set a world recoard using this method. 10 degrees is just a starting point to get rid of the wheel spin leaving the line. He and I both like to floor it off the line. I have a hard time getting a good launch so he gave me this tip. I just wanted to try it to see how it worked. He built the car Dings racing. Another guy is driving it . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OG6j2f_yubQ

I wouldn't kill power to make the vehicle hook. I would work on the suspension and tire combo. I am a CMR tuner also. I guess everyone does it different. Good luck.

I would do the same thing. I'm not a CMR dealer, but my Jeep SRT8 did have the record for quickest stock bottom end, naturally aspirated for a long time. No idea how Johan did the tune, but it worked.

Just something I wanted to try. He has had very good results with it. It's only pulling timing in the 1-3.8 range. So as he explained it to me it only has an effect off the line. The rest of the way down the 1/4 mile you are above that range. If it dosent work I won't use it anymore. Thanks for the input guys.
