05 Dodge magnum rt 5.7l predator u7135 v9r28 problem

Post by Spaydy »

Hi i have a huge problem after tuning my car. I installed "Performance 91 oct. CAI tune" in my car, i went out for a test drive and it seemed fine first but after i went 1 mile or so i made a kickdown and the gear jumped to neutral and the engine light went on P0137 was the code. And i had to turn off my car and start it again to get the gears working. I went home and pluged in my predator again and installed original backup and went for a test drive again and everything worked fine. So my question is should i try to update my predator to 9r30 and install the tune again? Since my gearbox is new it shouldnt be a box problem.

thats odd, thats a code relating to O2 sensors, not sure what happened there:
OBD-II Trouble Code P0137 - Oxygen O2 Sensor Low Voltage (Bank1, Sensor2)

I set shift points to stock and rev to 6000 and now everything works fine.

The problem was that you hit the rev limiter. The tranny went into limp mode. Theres really no point in raising the revs on a 5.7 unless you have internal work. The stock heads don't flow well up there, the stock cam isn't designed to make power up there. The power drops off above 5700rpm, so you're actually losing power. If you want a screamer, the 5.7L Hemi isn't it. The 6.1 is the better high rpm beast. Or better yet, most Honda or Toyota DOHC motors make high rpm power. The 5.7 is all about low rpm torque.

So what is stock rev at? First time i installed the tune i didnt set rev or shift points, so i guess i had stock rev then. If so i went into limp mode using stock settings. So should i lower rev below 6000?

I believe stock is 5800? By raising it, you're giving it a bit more room to rev without bashing it. The motor won't rev that high normally unless you also raise the shift points, which is pointless.
