Why does car have smoother downshift with Diablo Tune?

The thing I like the most about the 91 octane tune and mpg booster is that I don't feel a rough downshift that lurkes forward so to speak in stock form. Is this due to less torque management? I just wish the 91 tune has the same low end torque the stock tune has. The mpg booster is great for low end but falls on its face on the top end. If I can have the power of the stock tune with the shifting of the 91 tune I would be happy. Do I need a custom tune for this? Any Suggestions?

the 91 tune should make more torque than the stock tune all day....check for knock
