deactivate TCS & ESP

Post by typan »

If I’m to fit a SRT LSD to a 300C 5.7Lt do I need to deactivate any TCM controls like traction control or ESP?

Shouldn't have to. If you do you're gonna lose ABS and EBD too. You're changing the whole rear end, right? Because I don't think a 215mm LSD and gear set is gonna fit the stock 210mm housing.

I'm thinking of changing the complete thing, I found one with the same gear ratio 2.82:1 and the only difference is mine has a standard diff center and the SRT have a LSD diff center. I thinking what’s the difference in the electronics control, more so the traction control system going from a standard diff to a LSD diff.

Electronics should be the same. The only difference I can think of is that the standard rear would have the electronic LSD where the brakes slow the spinning wheel so the other will engage, and the LSD one wouldn't need that. Don't think it would be an issue though, because if the mechanical LSD is working, the slower wheel should be getting power anyway.
