Mike's phone support

Post by ntstambo2 »

Just a few minutes ago I called support to help me install an update on my Trinity and had Mike take my call. I've installed a few mods on my new Charger, but I'm a complete novice that just enjoys cars. I'd devote more time to it if I could, but I have other things in life that prevent me from doing that - as I'm sure a lot of other people out there do. Anyway, I haven't updated my Trinity in a while and it was totally my fault for doing it wrong, which I apologized for. However I could tell that Mike was very annoyed by his tone, which continued even after I apologized a second time. I then asked him if he knew of anyone that had ever added a blower to a stock AWD Charger, and if he knew if the Arrington tune that's been developed would work on the car. Mike explained that Diablo doesn't create those tunes and that he's never heard of anyone doing it either on an AWD Charger - but he was clearly upset with me for my question and his attitude continued to get worse. It was like dealing with a snotty checkout clerk. I finally pointed out that I was noticing he was getting annoyed with me and he quickly hung up. We weren't disconnected - I could hear him hanging up.

So Mike, thanks for hanging up the phone on me and for your winning attitude today. Your lack of professionalism and courtesy when dealing with a customer really says a lot about you. Not every customer that you sell your products to is a professional mechanic or tuner. I have a day job just like you and I deal with people that don't know as much about my area of focus as I do, but I never give them an attitude just because they ask a stupid question or they make a mistake – because it's my job to service them. Hanging up on someone and giving them a snotty tone is rude, disrespectful, and shows that you just can't handle yourself. Maybe you should find another line of work where you don't have to deal with people.
