New Exhaust and custom tune

Post by sdooms »

I got a new exhaust system on my car. Now the check engine light is on. This is because the new exhaust system has 2 less O2 sensors than the factory one did. I can clear the codes with my intune but they keep coming back. Some one told me i could contact you guys and you could write a custom tune that would delete the two O2 sensors that no longer exist from my car computer. Reply here and let me know please. Thanks.

You need to find a CMR dealer. You're no longer legal, so DiabloSport cannot help you directly.

the car is a 2007 Dodge charger SRT 8. 6.1L V8 engine.

Current mods:
93 octain tune
CAI
Borla 3in headers and Exchaust

Its odd that Diablo wouldn't help directly. I remember when i bought the Intune the rep said all i needed to do was put on the tune, and get someone at diablo to work with me to create a custom tune that deletes the two O2 sensors that are no longer there from the computer. I still have two O2 sensors so the car is still legal. It just has two less O2 sensors.

removing any O2 sensor is illegal, thus the main reason we can't help.
I'm sorry someone suggested to you that we could, but they were misinformed.
We have a network of dealers who purchased our tuning software who would be glad to provide you with a custom tune.

So after checked the four local vendors listed under the vendor locator on this website It seems that none of them do American cars. Of the ones listed two have gone out of business, One only does imports, and the other only does diesel engines. Now, Here is the odd part. I did a search for any shop with in a 500 mile range of me. And that only added two other shops to my very short list of four. When i called them, there were also out of business. So i have to ask, when was the last time you all updated your dealer locator? Is there another way i can get a list of people in the Baltimore Maryland area that do Custom tunes?

Theres also High Horsepower Performance in Delaware. And a 500 mile search should have also brought up A&A Performance, which is AJ aka HemiTuner in Westbury, NY.

Don't want to step on any toes but how does sct get away with it if it is illegal to delete the rear o2 sensors? So now I have to pay to get custom tune done on a tuner that user can tune his car himself? Oh and what happened to diablosport and procharger kits seems like all kits now go with sct for ford? I was told that diablo Was leading

SCT won't be getting away with it for much longer. From what I'm hearing the EPA has them in their sights. If they get hit with a fine, they could very well be gone at this point next year. DiabloSport has to be legal, because they're trying to get CARB approval.

As far as the supercharger kits, they use whatever is cheapest. The manufacturers are trying to make money, so whichever company gives them the best deals is what they go with. Diablosport has plenty of other customers. They have no need to give discounts to other companies to get more. SCT is so far behind, that to get customers they're willing to discount their products to get them out there.
