Have you tried the R6 tune?

Not yet. I've been testing a aftermarket tune. It seems they have figured it out, but I'm waiting for more details on what was changed.

EDIT: He says hes not sure what was changed w/ the latest revision. Just a differant base calibration file.....

Tune has been idling perfect for 2 days with about a 30rpm range. Has me feeling better that nothing is wrong w/ my car.

How come the DATAVIEWER doesnt show any knock sensor PID's? I plugged my laptop in and checked "infrequently used PID's" and nothing. Even when I log throught the tuner dash on the trinity, when I playback the log on the Dataviewer the knock retard pid doesnt show up. But it shows on the Trinity.....

That's cause you don't have the right version of dataivewer....

Scroll up. I was talking about dataivewer NOT firmware for the tools.

Gotcha. I feel bad for you having to spell this stuff out to people eveyday. :normal:

Updated the viewer. Couple of questions. If I hook up my laptop to the car, will it show me actual knock sensor readings(not KR)? How do I change the "unit" settings in the viewer to reflect Miles instead of Kilometers, and Ferenheit instead of Celsius?

You mean the mV's? I don't have those pids active yet. Once I find them (and they actually work) I'll add them to everything as I like to see them as well. All of the pids in imperial or metric should be there. Here I'll post my default dash for dataviewer. Goes to documents->dataviewer->dashboard

Pretty sure that's it.

Mv's? I'm trying to learn, sry.

I see them in miles and Ferenheit now, thx.

So there is no actual way to monitor if knock is detected, yet?

They commonly read in millivolts on pezio (knock) sensors.

The KR shows it giving and taking about 3 degrees in both directions, -3 to +3. Normal?

Yup. The new Ford knock strategy is pretty cool huh? It's super fast as well (hence why it can do what it's doing)

It'll vary as it sees fit based on the engines noise levels throughout the rpm range and constantly sampling. When tuning them you bascially get your tune down with the advance and retard tables being 0'd out so it can't do anyhting and then once satisfied you put them back and turn the learning back on and it'll take care of the rest. It can work against you at times is why you turn it off while on the dyno. That's the way our tunes are implemented.
