Stability disabled after adjusting tire size?

Post by danzigman »

I tried to adjust my tire size today. After updating the 87 tune I get stability control disabled message in the in dash display. I remove the turn and it disappears. What am I doing wrong?

The problem is still there after the update. I can install the 87 tune without issue. The problem only occurs when I change the tire/ wheel size. The tire in question 275/55r20. I just noticed this is posted in the wrong place. I am using a intune.

drag/drop this file to the intune drive, let the tool reboot, then go to the truck and restore the stock tune, then reload the tune with the tire size changes and all should be well.

Thanks

Ok, let me make sure I have this right. Drop the file you provided into the intune drive, then reboot the intune. Will this replace the 87 tune in the intune or wil this come up as a custom tune file? Also once the tune loads up change the defaults to the new size then install.

Thanks for your help!

after the tool loads the update, put the stock tune in the truck and then reload the tune to the truck.

Ok, I applied the file to the intune last night. I will put it on the truck after work today and let you know how it goes.

I have a feeling you are going beyond the range of the ABS sensors....

On a factory sized tire/wheel combo? It's not like I am running some wild wheel/tire combination.

if they are factory sized tires, there is no need to be adjusting anything, load the tune as is....

It is not factory on my particular vehicle but it is a common gm size on the silverado and on later Tahoes. Surely there has to be a fix for this. Adjusting the tire size is the main reason I bought the unit.
