Factory setting

Post by mbuckhout »

I'm considering a trinity when it becomes available for my 2013 charger r/t . If I install a tune, will I need to reset it to factory settings every time I bring it in for service?

Yes, that is the only way to avoid them flashing over the tune each time :)

What do you mean by "flashing" over a tune?

How about for a routine oil change? Do I still need to reset?

Hypertech Interceptor

Post by mbuckhout »

How does the Trinity compare to the Hypertech Interceptor? I know the obvious difference is the Interceptor is a wire harness and the Trinity is a handheld device. But what are the advantages and disadvantages of both? Why would I purchase a Trinity (when they make it for a 2013 charger rt) for more when I can buy a Interceptor now for less?

How does your product compare to a Jet Power Module?

The Jet is a paperweight. It does nothing. You can sometimes find them on eBay for like $15 because some doofus bought it and found out the hard way and just wants it gone. The Hypertech isn't much better. There is no equal on the market to DiabloSports tools.

I was hoping for something more substantive than that. I appreciate your thoughts though. Anything from the diablosport rep on my posts???

Pretty much what Mike said :)

If you want to tune your vehicle, and tune it properly, inTune or Trinity is the way. You get adjustable parameters, multiple tunes, and the ability to change tunes or go back to stock easily, plus logging, and code reading/clearing ability, so a flash tool offers way more than the inline stuff.

If you want to trick your PCM into thinking its sensors are lying to it to increase power, then the other guys are your answer :)

FWIW, inline trickery tuning went out the window inthe early 90s with the advent of so many PCM tuning platforms, it is really archaic compared to whats available today :)

Awwww. Being all PC about it. Guess you kinda have to do that, 'cause you're working. I can just go all out and trash their "products" (crap).
