Question , I have re- done some intake plumbing , If u look below where the factory air filter box is located ( which ALL of us should by now have tossed that aside ) there is a roughly 3" OD hole there & below that runs right down to the factory brake air vent, I have nicley opened up that hole to allow a PERFECT made K&N filter to drop right down into & thru the hole , I have a 4" ID smooth urethane lined flex hose ( & no crap dryer hose ) that runs up to the aftermarket intake tube , which the 4" fits perfect , the tube just slides right into my 4" ID hose. What I wanted to know was could I throw a little timing & fuel into the 93 CAI tune , due to more CFM & a much cooler air charge ? I just wanted to see everyones thoughts ? & no this is not all butchered up , its very clean installation. & the filter fits as perfect as can be.
thanks !
I do have most stan. mods, 3" Exhaust W/ Cats, Catch Can, Jet 180, 93 CAI Tune, ALWAYS use NOS octane boost per fill up. & of course
custom hi-flow REAL COLD AIR intake.

No. The CAI tune will be fine. The motor isn't bringing in any more air, because it can't use it. Air temperature changes are already taken into account by the computer.

Re: More Air Flow/ Cooler Charge SRT8 08'
thanks Mike, but Im thinking the computer can ONLY allow for the parameters ( give or take) in stock form, & a tad beyond, I know that there is wayyy more CFM flowing than the sensor can adj & tell the computer to allow for , just as there is a reason when Diablo is asking u when u install ur tune CAI or not, I feel Im beyond the " standard " allowed adjustments that Diablo makes when u select CAI or not, we all know more air / more fuel/ correct burn = more power. I can say this the throttle response is very tight , crisp & responsive , I have the NAG1 so at 80 mph & punch it I do feel it pulls harder .

The maximum cfm the 6.1 can flow, at 6400rpm and 100% Volumetric efficiency is 685cfm. The stock motor is only about 85% efficient, so it only flows 582cfm at 6400rpms. Adding your intake will have little effect on it. Maybe 86% or another 7cfm. The canned tunes can easily adapt to that. Even if you had no intake on it, the efficiency wouldn't increase enough to matter.
CFM = CID x RPM x VE ÷ 3456
CFM = 370 x 6400 x 0.85 ÷ 3456
CFM = 582
CFM = CID x RPM x VE ÷ 3456
CFM = 370 x 6400 x 0.85 ÷ 3456
CFM = 582
