ABS light 5.7l HEMI Jeep Grand Cherokee

Post by mschmid2 »

I loaded up the 87octane tune on my 2012 JGC, adjusted throttle response and tire size, and wrote the new tune to my vehicle. But now the ABS light is on all the time when the engine is running. What is the fix for this?

Hi,
I have the same ABS light after entering the tyre size.
Is that only light sight or ABS system does not work at all ?
Cant I fix that by flashing the stock soft back ?

PS. By the way the 87 octane tune was flashed initially without any problems. It happened later when I decided to play with tyre size. Damn. I guess ABS module do not recognize the data format from tune and consider as an error. ABS should be switched off in such case.

I'd tried to install backup. ABS light was still on. Than I'd installed 91 tune. Switched the light off. I was happy till driving but after engine stop to fill the gas tank I'd started the engine an saw the light again. Still present. So I am very disappointed. Driving without ABS is not safe and I worry about repairing the ABS module.
Please advise what to do.

Does this issue actually disable ABS or just turn the light on? If it actually disables the ABS system, huge liability issue for Diablosports.

I am having the same exact problem. I initially flashed the 87 Octane tune in my '12 JGC 5.7L without any issues (other than losing gas mileage in the city). I bought new tires and reflashed with the new tire size, only to have the ABS light issue. After reflashing stock tune, and resetting the vehicle with the battery (which is a PITA since the battery is under the passenger seat), still nothing. I notified Diablo over a month ago, with the only answer being "it is a known issue, we'll issue a fix soon". This is starting to get frustrating, especially since it is past my 30 day return window for the device. Really Diablo?!?!?!

please load this update to the intune drive, let the tool reboot, then go to the vehicle and change tire size or restore quick adjusts and it should set the light off.

Thanks

seems ABS is not disabled at all. I'd tried and felt some response on dusty road.

Sorry but it does not work.
I'd restored quick adjusts, I'd wrote tyre size 265/50/20, I'd wrote 91 tune and had ABS light on. Had restored the original backup. so ABS light is still present.

as well for me. Mine is under factory warranty
I have to go to brand service dealer to check and replace the dashboard because of faulty buzzer.I cant hear park sensors or turn signals, whatever. I wonder what they would do. They definitely will see ABS light. And what they would discover in ECU ?

hi mike,

thanks for this update. unfortunately, like a few of the guys who posted before me, it does not solve the abs light issue. after connecting my programmer to your site tonight, it downloaded an auto update.. not sure of the version as it only showed for a second. then i downloaded this update for the abs light issue. after downloading it to intunes folder and then resetting parameters in my vehicle, and then starting the car the abs light would go off for about a half second and then it would go back on. i also tried restoring the stock programming and the abs light continues to stay on. i also tried adding a different tune.. same thing. i also tried changing the tire size again... same thing. abs light is persistent. is there another trick to get this update to work? if not, please provide an update that actually solves the issue.

aside from this issue, i am very happy with this programmer... so i look forward to the fix soon! :-)

thanks,

martin
