Serious Intune Question!!!! PT GT with no wide band.

Post by HighOutputSRT4 »

I just purchased my Intune and had it delivered yesterday and installed the tune. I must say, it is one hell of a tune! However......... I'm getting extremely scared to even have this thing on my PT. From what I've been reading on the forum, people are saying it runs extremely lean and can blow the motor. My PT GT is on 2005 with 35k miles on it, was garage kept, with no issues. Bone stock except for a K&N short ram intake, and a Mopar BOV conversion plate. The conversion plate is NOT an aftermarket wastegate. It's the stock waste gate with a plate attached to make noise. I'm seriously concerned, and I really don't want to cause harm to my motor. PLEASE HELP!

Normally you get that from the guys who are supposed to have stock cars that don't unfortunately that's mostly all of the SRT4's not only that those cars are getting dated so their fuel pumps, filters etc... are also old causing this condition. If you want to post the last tune written I'll take a look at it. Also a log if you ahve any.

Thank you for the quick reply! How do I post my last tune? I do know all I did was install the Diablo Tune, and get a backup of my stock tune. And I hate to sound ignorant, but how do I log and post that?

When you plug the intune in the drive will pop up and pull the tunes from the tunes folder and post them here by attaching before you hit submit below. As far as logging bascially just go to scantool -> datalogging -> record with it plugged into car and hit record. When done hit back button and save then when you go back to PC and plug in the log will show up in the logs folder.

Drop that into your tunes folder and log again. Looks like you may need a TPS rewire....

Before I do that, do you want me to write that tune and then log? Than repost the log? And if I may ask, what is a TPS rewire, and how is it done?

I uploaded the tune you sent me and put it on my car. I then logged the run. Here it is.

Oh and I thought you should know, there is a part towards the end of the log where my foot slipped off the gas and I got back on it for a split second. It will look weird, just wanted to let you know that was my fault.

I've installed my stock tune again. Just to be safe until one of you guys can get back to me. I appreciate your time and cooperation in helping me out. I just want to make sure my motor is safe and no damage will be done to it. I really wanna keep this tuner because it is a hell of a tune. And I really don't want to have to send it back for the 30 day money back guarantee. But if I can't get safe a/f ratios, it isn't worth blowing up my vehicle.

Oh and my factory tune has been successfully restored when I see the following information on vehicle info right?

LTW: (none)
Custom: NO
Locked: 0/1

It still has my Vehicle VIN on it though. But this does mean I have returned to stock correct? I'm just making sure. When I hit restore it said "Restoring Original Backup" and did so successfully. I just want to make sure that with the information I provided above, I am back at my factory settings.

Due to the age of the cars I would say a wideband is required at this point. regardless of the age or mileage.

Thank you, and I appreciate your help. But my car is successfully back to it's factory settings correct? And I guess I'll have to RMA it than. Question is, do I send it back to you guys? Or do I send it to the dealer Diablo Sport Power that I purchased it from online?

Return it to whoever you got it from I guess. I don't know why you would want a turbo car without a wideband anyway. They're dirt cheap now days and it's cheap insurance either way.
