Simulated Dyno and Eco Gauge

Post by krzcooter »

I just got my Trinity last week and am loving it so far. I have been setting up my logs dashboard and getting used to all the settings. I am gonna be getting a cai soon and also making an exhaust. Is there a way with the trinity to do like a simulated dyno so that I can compare the horsepower and torque as I am making tuning adjustments and before and after each engine upgrade. It would be really cool to know what I am gaining or losing with each tune adjustment or part install. I know there is a simulated drag strip. I have not used it yet. After I do a 1/4 mile run or 0-60 in the simulated drag strip, will it give me a log with estimated horsepower and torque? Or better yet is there a gauge that I am missing in the log dashboard that will let me log hp and torque? Also, I thought there was a gauge that would show how economically I am driving? I can not find it in the log dashboard setting though.

Other tools have had that and its really inaccurate. You need to have the exact weight of the vehicle, and its occupants, and the fluids, and anything else in it, along with a perfectly flat road. Even then its only estimating how much power actually gets to the ground, because it doesn't know gearing, altitude or anything else.

Not even worth having.

Yeah, I know it would just be a rough estimate on brake hp, but I thought maybe the pcu might have a way to tell engine hp and torque. There are sensors for everything else, from premature detonation to manifold pressure, so why not hp and torque as well. They spend thousands of hours designing sensors and ways to make sure we don't hurt that invisible ozone thingy, lol. Why not spend a few hours and come up with a few useful sensors like hp and torque.

What about the economy gauge I have heard about? I have looked through all of the log items and can not seem to find it anywhere.
