Running 92 oct with a 91 tune?

Post by teacher dave »

Another noob question , I have been using 91 Octane with the Diablo 91 tune, running great. Then put in 92 with a little "seabreeze" additive (they didn't have 91) on the 91 tune. On my way back to Canada , the mpg improved slightly, but it didn't seem to have the same ease of throttle response and seemed a little less "ready to fly" if you know what I mean. Is that a problem, running 92 octane with a 91 tune? :?:

You can use any octane fuel rated above the rating of the tune but not an octane fuel rated lower than the rating of the installed tune.

And you didn't need the additive, it probably didn't help any!

Thanks for what I thought to be the case. I will stop with the additive. I have a feeling that may have led to the somewhat sluggishness I felt when driving home.

Hey JW, I hope that seabreeze additive won't do any lasting damage.

Nah, I'm sure it didn't do any damage but most additives aren't worth the price, don't do much and are just of waste of your hard earned money!
