I have posted several times lately regarding the 7.3L problems I've been experiencing...Got an email reply once , with no cure or potential fix.. I requested the name of the C.E.O. and received a name Mike Westley or something to that effect.. wrote a very detailed email to him ( if he exists) and to Phil Jones twice since Dec.20/07...Haven't heard a thing.. I guess I'll have to go back to Hypertech or Edge for the products that I know from previous experience work...Pisses me off to have a worthless tuner.. I wouldn't sell it to anyone as why screw another....I've towed over 7300 miles in the last 5 months and have had no use out of the u7170..And why do they have different versions out .. I bought one brand new from a local dealer and it was an old version.. What's up with that... the dealer ordered it for me , its not like it was sitting on a shelf...I have just begun to fight this... I \'m not one to take a screwin when I didn't drop my pants...

Mr. Wesley started the thread where he is seeking input from anyone with a Ford Diesel Predator to let us know their specific complaints and issues so we can address them in a new revision.
The sooner we get this feedback we will be able to start testing new tunes and get them out to you guys.

Thanks

I rest my case guys... the above response is typical... If they would read my emails or look at the posts under VEGASRJR... I believe they'd have all they need to be on track for a fix...I guess I'm just not up -to-date with these posts.. But what is a thread..... Maybe its something I need to sew the hole in my wallet left from the purchase of a tuner I cannot use...

The 8r05 only works for tools that were equipped with 8r05 right out of the box.

Thanks
I had 8r05 out of the box, but had to change to the 7r19dz to get it to work with my 2000 Excursion also.

Question for ExcursionExpress

Post by e08789 »

ExcursionExpress, what tunes have you run in your Ex? I just got my tool to work today and just put in the 100HP. I have a 4" exhaust and guages and when I turned onto the highway and put it to the floor, I get to 1200 on my EGT pretty quickly and need to back off. I have an intake that I still need to install.

I will be towing a large travel trailer once winter is over also.
Just was wondering since you are driving the same vehicle.

Thanks,
Rick

Where is your EGT probe installed?

At the exit of the driver's side exhaust manifold. From what I've found, it is recommended to not exceed 1250 at this location.
(Also, I did get up to 60 MPH, so it's not like I wasn't moving.) I would also expect once I install my new intake, that it will reduce this some.
