Info on Trinity 2012 SRT8 tune

Post by circleD212 »

I just purchased the T1000 and have the perf91oct tune on my care. I read the manual and I have some questions I hope can get answered.

Is there any other tunes other than perf91oct and perf93oct tunes for the 2012 SRT 392?

The tuner did not ask for a transmission type (manual or standard) why is this?

I do not have an aftermarket thermostat, the manual says only use temp managment with an aftermarket thermostat. Should I change this setting in the tune?

The front fans are on full blast at times and the temp gauge reads around 180 degrees.

Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated.

Only 91 and 93 tunes. It doesn't need you to tell it what tranny you have. Don't touch the fan settings unless you have a thermostat rated for something other than stock. The fans are optimized in the tunes to run the engine cooler, so they will come on more often.

The temp gauge on the dash used to run around 200 and now it is about 180 with the 91 tune. The motor is still going to run at the temp of the thermostat correct. Which means the thermostat is 204 and the coolant fans keep the coolant at 180. This means the fans are running all the time in 80 and 90 degree heat.

So are you saying these tunes are made for the stock 204 thermostat?

My 2012 SRT8 and my coolant temps hover around 205-215 with the DS tunes, stock thermostat.

I set my fans back to factory. I still have the factory t stat. I dont want my fans on all the time. The best the fans can do with the factory t stat is 204 or something near that. So they run almost all the time at low speed meaning low MPH with the 91 0r 93 tune.

I have tried to add gauges to a new layout and there is no coolant temp gauge like in one of the diablo video's. I can edit one supplied layouts but I cannot edit another one. This thing can be very frustrating trying to edit gauges.

Why do I not have a coolant Temp gauge on my Trinity?
