Could someone please tell me what this accomplishes?
I never do it when I install a tune because the only thing I do with the tranny settings is raise the shift points. I have the SRT flash in the tranny and it already shifts harder (too hard IMHO with torque management reduction).
After I install the 93 CAI tune usually the 1st time I run it out it hesitates a bit on the 1-2 shift but after that it's fine. I'm worried if I clear the TCM I'll loose the SRT flash which I like.
What's the benefit by clearing it??

RE: Clearing the TCM
All it does is clears the adaptives...won't wipe out any flashes.
Some people complain that after the car is babied for a day or two, that the tranny feels sluggish, reseting the adaptives should wake it up...
Thanks

So it sounds like it is exactly the same effect as pulling fuse 11.mikel wrote:All it does is clears the adaptives...won't wipe out any flashes.

Yup, just doing it from the drivers seat, rather than popping the hood...robaustin wrote:So it sounds like it is exactly the same effect as pulling fuse 11.mikel wrote:All it does is clears the adaptives...won't wipe out any flashes.
