u7151 ?

Post by rjames »

Just got my predator and I tried to install it into my truck and it tells me that my truck is not in the data base and to contact my dealer. Why did this happen? On the box it states 4.6 3 valve only. From the web site it says it will work for 4.6 and 5.4 motors. I have a 2007 5.4 f-150 and just do not understand. Did I get one that does not work in my truck? It also said my CUL ID is RXDG5A5 what does that mean? It is updated to have the v.8.r30 and thought this is all i needed to use this product. Can anyone help me I hate getting something that is supposed to work and it does not.

Thanks , Rob

I'll probably answer you before you get a response from Predator. So far I've posted two questions over the last 3 days with nothing, all the while everyone else has gotten an answer. Seems like they're only interested in answering questions if you own a mustang gt. U7151 is the the DSP you should have. The box does only says 4.6 for some reason, but it is the one you need. One would think DSP would fix this problem seeing how there are at least 20 posts asking the same question because of the mislabeling on the box. As far as the codes you're comming up with, I'm no help to you there. I own an 04 F150 FX4 5.4L and U7151 took to the truck just fine. Good luck, you may have a better chance of getting your questions answered if you call them directely. Posting a question in the forum about my truck has resulted in no help what so ever.

The support crew doesn't work over the weekend. You post Friday afternoon must have been missed because the phones were ringing like crazy late Friday. Bump your question and I am sure somebody will pick it up Monday morning.

rjames,

You have a new calibration from Ford that is not supported in r30. We will be releasing the revision that you need this week that supports your calibration.

so what I understand is that I bought something for $400 and now I can not use it? So I have to now go out and buy a cable and a power source and take the time to figure out how to load it in my comp and then figure out how to get it into the unit before I can even use the programs that are supposed to be in it? Wow I may have to re think this whole thing. so am I to understand that no matter where I get on of these things that it will not work in my truck? I am pretty sure that there are others out there already using this in their 07 5.4 or am I the only one with thhis issue?

No, rjames, your not the only one. I've been patiently wating for the update for three weeks now. I was upset myself about having to buy a serial cable and powercord to update a product that I believe should be ready to go out of the box. I guess that is what happens when you buy during a model year switch. At least we know we can keep updating our units in the future. My truck is an '08 and I'm thinking you have a late build '07 and that is why we're haveing the same code. Hey, tech support! Is that possible?

Yes it is possible. The RXDG5 is a new calibration for many trucks. Kevin has all the tunes completed and the update is in production. It will be released in the next couple of days.

Any delivery on the goods, yet, there, Rob?

I've been sitting here in Ohio pulling myself for about 8 weeks, waiting on a U7145 update. Let me know if you actually get an update like they say. According to them, I should have had an update about 4 weeks ago.

No nothing as of yet. I suppose I am to be looking in the download are but as of yet nothing there. there are updates for the data veiwer and ds downloader but noting showing a revision that I need. Hope it comes soon. i have 2 local diablo tuners here in the area but i do not want them to burn me something cause then I have to keep going back for changes. I used to work with Diablo a couple of years ago burning removable chips for Mustangs as we dynoe'd them but I just want a simple hand held for my truck and I hope this works out soon.

Just spoke to Christina this morning. She said the update will be out either today or early next week. If it makes you feel any better I have been (im)patiently waiting since Dec. 17th.

nice! I also heard that nobody will be around next week due to some event! Wow cannot believe I bought this and can't even use it. Most place will not even take it back once you buy it. Luckly I can in a 30 day time frame but I will have to wait to get my money back after the TUNER (Diablo) checks it out. Boy this sux!!!!!!!!!
