do u think i have to change it in trinity??

Re: Axle ratio
Are you get 2.65 by multiplying the rear end gear by the transmissions overdrive gear? Thats not how it works. Thats the Final drive. The axle ratio is 2.82.

A lot of the new cars use a 2.65 ratio stock...Mike_Levy wrote:Are you get 2.65 by multiplying the rear end gear by the transmissions overdrive gear? Thats not how it works. Thats the Final drive. The axle ratio is 2.82.

Re: Axle ratio
you do not need to tell the tool what your stock ratio is. you only change this if the gears were changed.

Re: Axle ratio
This is where I'm getting confused too. I'm seeing places saying "final drive axle ratio" as 2.65. But with an overdrive transmission, the final drive and the axle ratio aren't the same. From what I gather, the axle ratio is 2.65. 5th gear is 0.83. The final drive is 2.20.
So if you have 2.65 gears stock, you don't need to make any changes in the tune. The tuner reads the computer and knows whats in there.
