ecu v u7140

Post by mcstang »

Looks like I need my ecu reflashed or replaced.
My car has been poor for a while and I reckon I damaged the ecu jump starting the car.
I then bought the diablo to try and fix it and I think my original back up is corrupt as the car was already running rubbish.
If I Reflash the ecu is my diablo then obsolete?
Can it accept a new original back up or does the device itself need returned to stock?
Thanks

restore the stock tune, then replace the pcm, and the tool will work fine.

Ok, screwed up.
Car was in getting stuff seen to and the guy asked me if I wanted the latest update from Ford.
In light of my issues, I agreed to it over the phone.
So the ecu has been reflashed, however, the tune in the car was a canned tune-it wasn't the "original back-up"(stock).
Car is fine but I can't load any tunes now as it says something like "invalid licence".
Is the predator for the trash or can this situation be rescued?
Revision is v.9r09

Thanks
